I have been on and off atkins for years. Let me tell you a few things about the "bars" and products designed for low carb. They are very misleading. even atkins himself uses products called moltitol(Sp?) Molitol is a sugar alcohol which all the old low carb products claimed to be "net" carb lower. meaning they didn't count ANY calories from Moltiol or sorbitol as calories. NOT only are they calories but most peoples systems treats it like sugar. its 75% the sweetness of sugar and go figure it is 75% of 1 carb. So less then 1 carb per serving most companies can put zero sugar carbs on the label when it fact it is "almost" one carb per serving. If it is over one they count them all but then the "claim" you can remove them from the carb count. SO remember 1 gram of fat is 9 calories 1 gram of protien is 4 calories 1 gram of carbs is 4 calories. If you add all the grams up on your label as that. You should have exactly the number of calories per serving listed. for instance

protien 4 grams = 20 calories
carbs 2 grams = 8 calories
fat 5 grams = 45 calories

per serving this should say 73 calories per serving. Lets say its net zero carbs... then it should be 65 calories per serving. If its ANY more than 65 there ARE carbs you need to count. So whatever is left after you count protien and fat that is ALL CARBs. HOpe that is clear and understandable. Good luck.
