    Default What works for me

I've tried a variety of approaches and centres - Dr. Bernstein Diet and Weight Loss Clinic works for me. I've lost 38 lbs in 9 weeks; an additional 30 remaining to go. It's medically supervised (not cheap though) but is the only approach and method that works for me.

    Default Weight Watchers

I've just bought the 30 day Isagenix cleanse/diet. Frankly, I don't like it but it got me started on losing weight. What I have come to realize is that the best approach for me is the one used by Weight Watchers.

Isagenix is based on meal replacement shakes and "cleanse days" which means fasting for one day a week. You might think that's not bad but it is and I found that the so-called detoxifying process with Isagenix is far-fetched. I am constipated (how can that be cleansing when nothing is moving through your natural cleansing system?) and there were meal ideas given for the meals you are allowed but no real direction towards avoiding certain toxifying foods. The reality is that it is a diet plan only and the detox side of it is dubious.

With any diet you will feel hungry. There's just no getting away from it. Which diet will keep that under control and make it bearable? For me it was Weight Watchers and I am following that more now than Isagenix even though I have half the Isagenix box here unused. The only thing with Weight Watchers is that is takes a bit more work that Isagenix. You diarize your food intake for the day and assign points to what and how much you eat to make sure you are on track. Still, it's real food and more sustainable in the long run if you can keep your focus. I did it successfully after having my son but after two miscarriages and my daughter I couldn't sustain it and now am trying once again to rectify things. Hopefully I can keep on track this time.
