Yeah you will notice that you are more hungry when you lack sleep because sleep deprivation increases the level of hunger hormones and decreases levels of a hormone that makes us feel full. These effects may lead to overeating and weight gain if we are not careful.

I have! I feel bloated and a little heavy when I lack sleep and it's an uncomfortable feeling. That's why now I try to sleep for a minimum of 7hrs a day because not only do I have more energy but I feel good

If I feel a little hungry, I drink a glass of water and then go to sleep. It keeps me feel comfortable while sleeping. Sometimes when I am hungry and I go to sleep, I wake up in the middle of the night and eat because it gives me discomfort. Drinking a glass of water before going to bed helps bypass the occasional midnight snack

It is quite common problem, i cant explain you the exact reason behind that but i think the problem is with the metabolism.

Yes it affects the metabolism and those who sleep 7hrs a day have less body fat than those who sleep less. I've had this problem before and I gained a lot of weight. Now I am happy with my weight, although I have to spend more time exercising to tone my muscles. I sleep at least 8hrs a day and it's given me a lot more energy and better concentration at work.
