Phentermine – empowering your battle against obesity

    Introduction and definition of Phentermine

In simple words, Phentermine is nothing but an appetite suppressant or
something that ceases your urge of hunger. It is often used as
short-term treatment of exogenous obesity or in other words to reduce
the weight in obese patient with the combination of proper diet, good
and appropriate exercises and behavioral modifications. The aim is to
lose the weight in a safer way without any major side effects. The
Phentermine is approved by the Food and Drug Administration since 1959
as an appetite suppressant for the short-term remedy for obesity.
Phentermine works by helping to release some chemicals in the human
brain, which control the appetite in an individual. Phentermine also
works by stimulating a gland called hypothalamus and affecting the
certain neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters interact with the
feeling and notification of the hunger.

Since Phentermine is similar chemically to the amphetamines, it has
the tendency to become psychological dependency and hence it is to be
    used with extreme caution.

    How to use Phentermine

It is to be taken as prescribed and advised by doctor. Check the label
on the pack of medicine for exact dosing and expiry date instructions.
The Phentermine is to be taken about ½ hour before meals. At night, it
is to be taken at least 4-6 hr before going to the bedtime and if you
got to take medicine only once in a day, the morning is preferable.
Mind it that you should not take two doses at a time in case you have
    forgotten your previous dose.

    No Phentermine

No Phentermine is to be taken if you are allergic to any ingredient in
Phentermine or any other sympathomimetics like pseudoephedrine. If you
have taken medicines like dexfenfluramine, guanadrel, fenfluramine,
furazolidone, monoamine oxidase inhibitors in last fourteen days, you
    should avoid taking Phentermine.

Phentermine is also to be avoided in case of moderate to severe high
blood pressure i.e. hypertension. Overactive thyroid gland, glaucoma,
blood vessel diseases or heart disease are also some of the diseases
in which, Phentermine is not taken.

    Interaction with Phentermine

Before using the Phentermine, you need to consult your doctor. Some
medical condition may interact with Phentermine. Doctor is to be
informed especially, if you are a pregnant or planning to become
pregnant or are nursing mother. Inform even if you are using any kind
of herbal preparation, nonprescription medicines or any dietary
supplements. A person suffering form any brain or spinal cord
disorders, high blood pressures, diabetes, high lipid/cholesterol
levels or any arteries' diseases; should be very careful taking the
Phentermine. Some of the drugs like SSRI (Serotonin specific reuptake
inhibitors) also interact with Phentermine. Guanadrel or guanethidine
like drugs may also interact with this medicine. They will decrease
the positive effect of the Phentermine.

Though, Phentermine is useful in treating the obesity, it should not
be replaced by proper diet or exercise. Keep in mind that this is a
short term remedy for the obesity and your real weight-losing therapy
is still depending on your proper diet, exercises and behavior
    therapies.

Thanks for sharing DietForums. Are there any reported side effects in using Phentermine? How much weight are they expected to lose?

I read that if you stop taking Phentermine after a long period of use, you could experience depression or extreme tiredness. I also read that using this drug could impair your thinking or reaction. That's scary.

The side effects are really scary and not worth it. How can the government approve these anti-obesity drugs that are not doing any good to the body except for keeping you from being overweight? That's why dieters should really read reviews and do their research before they take these pills because you can't take it back once you take it in your body.
