Thread: How much weight did you loose on phase one of the Atkins?

    Default How much weight did you loose on phase one of the Atkins?

    State your starting height and weight and you height and weight after. It has been my first week so I still have one more week left on phase one.

    My Starting Status
    Height: 5'2
    Weight: 141lbs

    My Current Status
    Height: 5'2
    Weight: 136lbs

    Weight Loss: 5lbs

    Hi I am 5'7 and when I did atkins before I was 210 and in the first week I lost 13 pounds and in the second week I lost 7 pounds. Roughly. That was before. It was awesome. I am on it now again. I have been on it for 2 days and I have lost a pound. Hopefully tommorow it will be a few more. Atkins is awesome. I have heard of people loosing 40 pounds in a month on it, and they were around how how much i weigh. It may take longer for you since you have alot less to loose then I do.

    The Atkins diet is really bad for your health. It is really high in fat and low in carbohydrates, which you need for your health! Please read this article!

    THIS IS FACT.......not fiction...

    Several yrs ago.....I smoked 3 pks of Kools a day.....

    I am 5'7 and was 225lb.....

    Surprise....I had a small warning stroke.....DAH

    My doctors put me on a calorie counting diet....

    But friends put me on ATKINS instead.....

    I lost 40 lb in one month.....And quit smoking at the same time....

    So my smoking metabolism....would probably add more to that 40 lb....

    But I was a strict dieter.....never leaving the diet....and even pushing the carb count lower than required in phase 3.....

    When I went back to my doctor....all the tests came back....very positive....

    My blood pressure was the best it had been in yrs....

    My good cholest was up and my bad was down....

    This doctor was tooting how great his diet plan I told him that I was on ATKINS instead.....

    He called in his associate immediately and they asked me in detail about the diet....


    Keep in mind that my quitting smoking also help in correcting my cholest and BP.... worked....

    Unfortunately.....I gained every pound soon as I went off the diet...

    I am now trying something less HARSH....and more to my liking...

    But the results are SO much slower than ATKINS.....I might just Bite the bullet .....and go back to that terrible diet.....that works...

    But not just yet.....LOL....

    The Atkins diet is really bad for your health. It is really high in fat and low in carbohydrates, which you need for your health!

    Exclamation Atkins -- Things you should know

    Presumably all here have scoured the Atkins website for information. A few things that it doesn't mention.

    (1) Induction to Ketosis generally takes 2 - 3 days to start as your glyogen carb stores are depleted. During this time you will be losing weight...however it is water. (you will gain water weight back when your diet resumes to normal).
    (2) Buy some Keytone strips from the pharmacy. Great way to keep you motivated and see if you are burning ketones.
    (3)The fat you eat on Atkins is burned first so it doesn't mean you can eat whatever you like. The goal is to burn body fat stores so eating too many fats wil inhibit your weight loss.
    (4)Drink LOTS of water. This helps in the fat burning process
    (5)EXERCISE...if you are in Ketosis, the exercise you do is burning fat stores! How awesome is that!

    This is a great post Atkinsman! You gave us a more information about the weight loss process of being on an Atkins Diet. Do you use it yourself? Can you share us your experience or more info about it? I'm sure many of us here would like to know more.
