I love this post because it has so many information about the Atkins Diet that I don't know. Probably some Atkins followers do not know about this as well. What do you think of weighing in and keeping track of your weight daily CellarElf? Does that help? Because I think along with writing down every single food we eat and drink, noting your daily weight will also help know which foods help you lose weight more. Would you recommend it or you think it's too distracting for dieters?

Yeah I think that's a good idea as well. Although I think that some dieters maybe discouraged to lose weight if they don't see big improvement after all the hard work. I think at some point I too maybe disappointed if I see a slow progress after pushing myself to my limit . However, it may also be a good way to keep track which foods and activities helped more in your weight loss.

    Hi Viktoria,
You know I think it depends on the person. If they're the kind of person that is going to go off on a binge of eating because their weight is 2 lbs higher than the day before, then I'd suggest they stay off the scale. Pick one day a week and only get on it on that day.

Personally, I weigh every day. If I see a 1-2 pound increase, I will mentally go back to see what might have caused that (too much salt, not enough water, etc.) but I don't stress.

Normally when I gain weight it's because of too much sweets . So cutting it down really helped me lose weight. Now I feel fitter and healthier than ever.

Atkins is not the same with low carb diet. Atkinks is very strict, I tried to keep it several times but I couldn't.If all you activity for 1 year is to lose weight than it can be done, but if you have work/school then it is almost impossible without a personal trainer.

Really? I haven't tried it but just curious. How difficult is Atkins? I heard that it's good but also not easy to do

I'm not sure what you mean. "Low carb diet" is generic and can mean anything. Atkins is low carb, South Beach is low carb (I think...not that familiar with it), any diet restricting carbs to less than 60gm per day is low carb. Each, however, does have their own personal 'tweak' on things. Unfortunately, some people think low carb is 160gm per day. It's not. Oh sure, it's half of what people normally eat, but that doesn't make it low carb.

A personal trainer if you want to do Atkins? Maybe I'm misunderstanding. I lost 70 pounds in 3 months and I never exercised. Atkins is as simple as eating protein and green vegies. Some people do add fruits and grains back in when they're at maintenance. Some of us do not in order to control blood sugar.

The same could be said of any diet, no? It's always difficult to change bad habits, so no matter what WOE you choose, it will be difficult. If it wasn't, none of us would ever have gotten fat.
