  1. Do I Care?

    I have worked in the area of weight loss for over 35 years, and one comment that REALLY ticks me off is listening to "(He)/She's so fat that she just must not care about herself". What is even more astounding is that often the person making the comment is often not in all that decent shape themselves.

    What is not understood (or seen) are the tears, myriad of fads and diets, doctor visits, negative and self-destructive thoughts, listening to the taunts, jeers, and comments, ...

    A lot of people think that they can diet without getting exercise.
    The truth is - yes, you can. The problem is that usually the results
    are only short-term.

    There are numerous studies that have shown that people who are able
    to keep their weight off long-term, are almost always on some kind of
    exercise program, or are maintaining a much higher level of physical
    activity than before they lost their weight.
