A lot of people think that they can diet without getting exercise.
The truth is - yes, you can. The problem is that usually the results
are only short-term.

There are numerous studies that have shown that people who are able
to keep their weight off long-term, are almost always on some kind of
exercise program, or are maintaining a much higher level of physical
activity than before they lost their weight.

If you are losing (or trying to lose) weight, and don't know where to
begin, I usually tell my clients to start a walking regimen. Walking is
great. It is low-impact, you can walk faster as you get physically
stronger, and you will burn calories.

So, it is possible to lose weight without the exercise, but to keep your
weight off in the long run, you need to "Get Physical"!

Many fat people have just let themselves go and don't realize that the muscles have to be exercised, rigorously. Why am I fat, you must evaluate yourself taking it from an early age to your present age [ timeline ] to try and find out the reasons why I am fat, the proceed to try and find the best way to trim your body fat.

one reason that you will put on the lbs is over stuffing yourself. Binge eating is basically a form of overeating at its worst. There are times when we all overindulge in good foods, such as at a holiday or when eating out at a restaurant. However, a binge eater faces overeating problems more than a few times a week. Binge eaters often find themselves overweight and unhappy, which can make the situation worse.

    Hey Chazz, some good comments.
One thing that many people do not realize is that binge eating is overeating - on steroids!
The binge eater, in many cases, has a problem that is not only physical, but also psychological.
Just as the anorexic needs help psychologically, it is very difficult for the binge eater to control their eating on their own. Professional help, or at least a family or friend, is needed to encourage and monitor a binge eater towards success.

I agree that a binge eater has psychological problems too. Probably they are stressed or lonely so they get comfort from food. In my case I don't eat too much but the stress and the change in my biological clock, plus lack of sleep contributed to my weight gain. I did lose weight before but gained it back until I started exercising. I have not gained weight for 4 months now even if I eat all the foods I want to eat, except for junk foods which I totally avoid.

I have seen people being discriminated because of their weight and it is just sad that people are this shallow. You cannot judge a person's character because of her weight. I have a woman friend who weighs 110 lbs, she's only 4'10" tall, and looks fat. She hasn't had any suitors and is always nicknamed as babe (babe the pig) until she lost weight, which I think is just absurd. She's still the same person but guys don't see her for her character but for her weight and for me it's just so wrong.

I have also started exercising everyday for about 4 months and I am happy of the results. I have more energy and feel very healthy. The reason I wanted to lose weight was to keep some weight off my heart because it's weak. Now I am doing okay and I have never been healthier. Healthy eating pays off and makes a big difference in a person's confidence
