haha it's a high school anatomy class, but our book doesn't help at all. she told us to go online, but everytime i look them up really confusing stuff comes up and she keeps telling me those aren't the terms we use! HELP please

Just google "acromegaly", but 6 is testosterone.

Question two is dead WRONG.

Graves disease causes excess hormone production. It is not the excess hormone production that causes Grave's disease.

Yuna_A is correct, but with number 5, growth hormone only causes this if there is too much of it in a child (i.e. when someone is still growing). In adults, you get the effects of number 1.

Lisa A is correct that number 2 is badly written. The answer your teacher is expecting is thyroxine (thyroid hormone), but this is wrong. Perhaps you could get extra marks by explaining this! Graves disease is a cause of hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), where the thyroid pumps out too much thyroxine. The thyroxine causes the nervousness, increased pulse and weight loss, but not the bulging eyes. Graves' disease is caused by the immune system making antibodies that stimulate the thyroid. These antibodies are also what cause the bulging eyes, not the thyroxine. Only some people with hyperthyroidism get eye problems.
