    Red face Comfort eating/cravings

    Hi

I am struggling with my stress. I find when I am stressed or worried or concerned the cravings for food start... My hunger pains are harder to control and I wave off the dietry path....

Then My depression is worsened when I see the scales!......

I am going to try to eat more but healthier....increase my excericise and see if this works......

    Does anyone else have anytips???

My friend was also having that same problem. Her craving for food increased when she is depressed because she finds comfort in eating. I also had this before but I was able to overcome it. I just diverted my craving to going shopping and hanging out with friends. That is what you can also do angel. Do not lose hope because that will only worsen your depression. I suggest you find a diversion so you do not need to eat when you are depressed. Eat small and frequent doses. Try eating 5 or 6 times a day to avoid craving for more food when you get hungry. This too will pass if you believe that you can stop seeking comfort from food. No one can help you but yourself. If you feel hungry, do not eat junk foods. Always drink lots and lots of water. I hope this helps.

Do not eat when you are stressed or depressed because it will not help you at all. You will get a little satisfaction after you eat but the long term effects of that in your health is not good. It will only make you gain more weight and make you more depressed. I was having a hard time losing weight when I was working because I found myself buying more and more junk foods every time, but when I finally decided to take a long vacation, I noticed that I barely have craving for food and I started losing weight. I suggest you sleep when you are stressed, tired, or depressed. Drink lots and lots of water and it will make you lose craving. Brushing your teeth when you start craving for food is also another trick. Do whatever you can do to deal with stress but never eat.

I feel sorry that you feel that way. As much as you want to feed your craving, I suggest that you do not. Just like what viktoria said, you will only regret it because you will gain more weight. Relax and spend time with family and friends when you are stressed. You can get a massage so you feel better. Deal with stress and pamper yourself in different ways but never come to food for comfort. Exercise or go to the gym. Do things that will make you feel good about yourself.
