If I feel hungry, I reach for fruits particularly an orange. It's rich in vitamin c and high in fiber which is good for the body. For me it's better than eating bread or junk foods. I also try to enjoy a dessert after each meal because I feel more satisfied and cravings is lesser when I am completely happy with my meal. I normally have yogurt which is also a healthy option

The emotional component of eating is certainly an important factor to consider. Before we had theaters and sports arenas, meals were one of the primary social events. Food is one of our most important physical needs after air and water. It is natural to fall back on food as a source of security when we feel insecure in other areas. It is a type of compensation when some need is not met - to exceed the need in some other area. Food is a common one. Unfortunately, as natural a reaction as it is, it is not necessarily a healthy one. For anyone who does this, there are a few things I would like you to consider.

You are unique. There is no one on this planet like you. Fingerprints are just the tip of the iceberg. No other person truly has your experience or your perspective. There might be someone out there that you can reach and encourage that no one else can. The Earth would be lessened by your absence. As much as we try to stereotype ourselves through identification with politics, or race, or religion, or social affiliation, or culture ... the fact remains that you are irreplaceable. Your value lies not in your possessions or your appearance, but in your individual identity. This very diversity is part of our collective strength and should be cherished.

Respect who you are and you will satisfy an inner need that food cannot fill.
