Default Can someone tell me a good diet for me?

Ok. I'm not going to tell my weight or anything, but I want to know a few things about a good diet plan for me.

    I have PCOS.
    I'm IR (insulin resistance)
    I'm overweight.
I have more abdominal fat than anywhere else.

So what could be a good diet plan for me?

I want my heart to be healthy, and lose weight of course..also my blood pressure was slightly raised at my last dr. visit.

    So what should I do?
I like just about any foods, but the healthier foods are actually my favorite.

    Any advice?

Your doctor is qualified to give you good information on this or so he or she should be.

I have a few of the same symptoms. Is it safe to assume you're on Glucophage (or generic Metformin) for the PCOS and IR? If not, you should ask your doctor about that. Many of the women I know with the same problems have had success using Glucophage.
I can recommend a new book by Dr. Louis Aronne called The Skinny: On Losing Weight Without Being Hungry. There's not much new information in this book, it's like a run-thru of basic diet and exercise info, so it might be a good starting place for you. Get the basics from that book and tailor it to your needs. I've had great success with a diet tailored around the one in that book, lost about 30 pounds so far.
The Dr. Phil diet is a good one too. But it's fairly strict.
The important thing to remember is to find something that you feel you can stick with, and don't deny yourself anything, you'll just want it more. Like if you want a big steak, have one, just eat a salad first! Believe me, it does make a difference. Good luck to you!
If you're interested in the book The Skinny, they have it on Amazon fairly cheap, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Skinny-without-Hungry-Ultimate-Success/dp/0767930398/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240808772&sr=1-1

Eat greens (vegetables), take carrots, water, less sugar, 1 yoghurt in the morning, little carbohydrates found in wheat bread, egg white and chicken breast can be combined to help you reduce weight.

    Smile Hello.

I agree with the one who said to check with your doctor. Though one thing I can say is portion control is the key. I have type 2 diabetes and lost 38 pounds the hard part for me is maintaining it as I like food to much.

Your family doctor give you good advice because he also know your family history.

Diabetes is a difficult condition to deal with as it restricts many different foods. However when you change your eating habit to the recommended diet for your condition and have adjusted, it won't be that hard. You can still enjoy eating variety of foods but you only limit your intake to the one suggested by your doctor to keep the condition from getting worse.

You want a diet that is high in fiber (good carbs) and balanced with protein. You are right that you want to watch BAD fats, but the good stuff can help with your mood, skin, good cholesterol.
It is all about balance. If you would like to get in touch, email me. I have a 90 Day Program that results in 10-16 pounds of REAL WEIGHT LOSS!

I would recommend a low fat diet if you are very concerned about your heart condition and blood pressure. You will definitely lose weight and keep a healthy heart and controlled blood pressure. Skipping meals is not advised as this leads to overeating which will make you consume more calories and not be able to burn them if you are not an active person.

That is right. You have to be careful with what you eat and avoid fats. Serve more vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes. These foods may be one of the most powerful strategies in fighting heart disease. Serve a bare minimum of saturated fats and trans-fatty fats (for example, fats found in butter, salad dressing, sweets and desserts).
