You'll like it. At first it's really bitter because you're not used to the taste, but once you eat it often, the bitterness will not be an issue anymore. It's really delicious. Sometimes my stir fries it in olive oil and garlic to remove the bitter taste, and then adds scrambled eggs to it

Exactly! Once you get used to the taste, you'll actually like it. My mom puts ground beef or cut up chicken. Yeah she also adds a lot of garlic to make it more delicious and take that strong smell and taste away. I'll ask my mom to try them with eggs too. Thanks for the tip!

No problem viktoria! I'm sure you'll enjoy them too. I like it a lot because it's not only delicious but it's also rich in nutrients that is beneficial to our body. I haven't noticed any side effects either.

We drink tea made with Bitter Melon. I have tried two different kinds of tea: one, which is made with bigger pieces, has a very nice smell from the toasted bitter melon pieces. Each serving is in a little foil pouch. I think the balance between the toast, the melon, and the slight bitter is very pleasant, and it makes a very drinkable tea: almost like chicory or something like that.

The other, in tea bags, is made with little pieces or powder, doesn't taste as good. But it is more convenient. I think the melon loses a lot of flavor when it is exposed to air. I much prefer the pieces.

Neither one is actually very bitter, but perhaps we are used to it? I think different strains of melon are more or less bitter. It might also matter when they are harvested.

When I lived in the Philippines, I used to eat more fresh bitter melon, usually fried with eggs. Its not bad, but I much prefer the tea.

Really? I think that I will try cooking the bitter melon soon. Many of you here seems to like it a lot. I'll try the tea too. Can you also put some honey on it to make the tea taste sweeter?

I never tried it with honey, but I guess so. Or maybe some nutrasweet. The tea already has some natural sweetness.

I guess I'll go with honey. I have allergic reaction with sugar substitutes. It's really weird but I have trouble breathing almost instantly after I take anything with it

I have tried bitter melon tea with honey and it makes the taste more interesting. There is a slight bitterness that you will taste if you are new to bitter melon, but once you get used to it you won't notice the bitter taste anymore. You'll like it more becasue it makes you healthier.

My grand dad actually drinks bitter melon tea but I have not tried it. I only eat the vegetable stir fried with meats or egg. I also think that honey will make the tea taste better.
