Default Insulin-Creating Cell Research May Lead to Better Diabetes Treatment

According to science daily, the beta cells which make insulin in the human body, do not replicate after the age of 30, indicating that clinicians may be closer to better treating diabetes. It could be due to loss of beta cells with age. The body doesn't make new ones in adulthood and there might not be enough cells to control blood sugar.

This is a great news and could could give more hope to those who have type 1 and type diabetes at a young age. Right now obesity rate increases with the incidence of type 2 diabetes and it is now starting to be found in obese children. The latest research will help better treat these cases.

I have read so many cases of children with diabetes and I believe that dieting shouldn't be limited to those who want to lose weight. Maintaining a healthy diet will ensure a healthy life. We all should be changing our eating lifestyle if we want to avoid medical conditions. With all the junk foods that are available for children nowadays, it's not impossible to be seeing overweight and diabetic kids. Parents should be alarmed and start training their kids in eating healthy foods.

I agree with you kathy! Kids shouldn't be exempted from eating junk foods just because they are still young. They too need to be trained to eat healthy foods so they don't become over weight and will not have difficulty staying fit later on. One clear example are my nieces. One loves to eat sweets and drink soda. The other one couldn't care less about junk foods and eats healthy. They are both 4 year old cute girls but you can see how healthy the other one is. The healthy little girl has glowing skin, great hair, learns fast, more energized, and have less tantrums. Kids should have a good diet as much as the older people because our body needs nutrients. They may not need healthy eating to lose weight because they just burn any food easily, but their body definitely needs the nutrition to avoid sickness.

Anyone who eats too much junk foods will eventually suffer from it. I think that some parents think that feeding their kids with everything they ask is good because they love them. However, if we think about it, feeding the children with too much junk will make them more prone to sickness. I think they can still enjoy sweets but in moderation. It's best that the entire family eats healthy to encourage better health.

Here are some startling statistics. 174 million americans are overweight or obese, 80% are over the age of 25 and overweight, 92 million americans are obese, 3 million are morbidly obese. You want to know the sad part of these stats? These figures are for adults, the results are not in for our youth. The European union came in second and Mexico is third (who also had the largest man in the world) till he started his weight loss program. Pretty sad. and there is always someone out there trying to sell some new fangled idea or fad diet.
Think about how many kids are being diagnosed with ADD and ADHD, start looking at the ingredient in every package. My grandson is now eating the special formulated food that I am. he is not getting sugary hyped up drinks . He is going to grow up knowing the mistakes that we made to make ourselves overweight. He loves the stuff I give him. I had someone send me info about soda and it blew me away. A lightbulb went off, I do not drink it but my Aunt does and she is always sick...I wish I knew all this stuff when i was pregnant and i would not be tryin to lose all these pounds now

It's really sad to hear that a lot of people are suffering from medical conditions because of poor diet or too much of fatty, salty, sweets, and junk foods. I have stopped drinking sodas for a long time now and I mostly just consume water. These statistics should tell us that we have to improve our lifestyle to avoid before it's too late.
