Default The Asian Diet by Jason Bussell

I just read the best diet book I have ever read. The Asian Diet: simple secrets for eating right, losing weight, and being well, by Jason Bussell, an acupuncturist. It is not like South Beach in that it doesn't tell you what to do every day. It just explains how food works. Why white rice is better than brown, why salads are not good, why we shouldn't juice much, and my favorite...why calories don't matter. Apparently the Chinese have a very different way of looking at food; but it seems to be working for them. This book is easy to read and filled with simple and useful information. I recommend it. There's a website theasiandiet.com where you can read more about it, and submit recipes that adhere to the principles.

Just an adiitional information, this diet is rich in rice, fish, soy, tea, fruits and vegetables. It focuses more on drink and exercise (walking, biking, and other physical activities) and have no restrictions on what you eat. This diet is based on a case study of the asian population, mainly Japan and China.

I'm not suprised that they designed a diet based on that case study. People in Japan and China all practice healthy diet and lifestyle. They may even be the healthiest people in the world.

Asian countries do have lower cancer and heart disease rates compared to western countries. It doesn't only represent Japan and China though. The case study also includes other countries like Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and India.

I read of a review about this diet and it mentioned the advantages. Disadvantages? It says "None to speak of". It's very rare to see a diet that doesn't have a negative side.
