Drinking one tall glass of cold water before and after meals will make you feel full and eat less. It works for me =D
Another great tip: don't drink pop. I'm amazed how many people think pop is harmless.
As for tips to eating less, I find regular exercise helps with food cravings. After a good workout I feel relaxed and don't indulge.
