    Default Problem Foods For Cellulite

    Caffeine
Experts consider that the stimulant caffeine has a negative effect on lymph flow and blood circulation, as it causes small blood vessels to constrict. This reduces the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and skin and may inhibit cell metabolism, resulting in a build-up of waste products. The main sources of caffeine include coffee, tea, colas and other sodas.

    Alcohol
Alcohol is a toxin. It might taste good, but avoid it if you suffer from cellulite. It simply adds an extra load onto your body's waste-removal organs and systems.

    Refined Food
Omit all processed and refined foods from your cellulite reduction eating plan. For example, avoid foods that include additives, sodium/salt, sweeteners, and other chemicals. All foods should be made with fresh and (if possible) organic ingredients.

    Animal Foods
With the exception of 'live' bio-yogurt, omit all dairy, eggs and meat. Note: unless you are vegetarian, reduction of animal foods should be strictly short term.

    Drugs
Unless prescribed for a medical condition, it is best to avoid all drugs, including over the counter drugs when following a cellulite-friendly diet or eating plan.

Sodas are really bad for the body not only because of the alcohol but the sugar content as well. If you want to avoid having diabetes soon, then avoiding sodas will help a lot. I was a heavy soda drinker but I stopped it because it was making me gain weight fast. As for caffeine I think as we take it to minimum, we should be okay.

I didn't know that OTC drugs also needs to be avoided to fight cellulite. Sodas are the most common because of the alcohol and sugar content.

Yes it is actually. Many people suffering from weight gain claims that they drink too much soft drinks. Drinking them will not really cause you to gain more weight. However the flavor and the refreshment that we get from the drinks makes it too easy for us to consume too much. One 12-ounce can of regular (non-diet) soda contains about 150 calories, and one 20-ounce bottle, contains about 250 calories. Imagine how much calories you take in if if you consume a large/tall soda?

You can't completely get rid of cellulite naturally but you can always shrink them by staying hydrated and by eating foods that are good for your skin. I've read that well-hydrated skin can conceal the appearance of cellulite.

I know what cellulite is but does any of you know what causes them? I mean it's good that mikaela listed the foods that worsens it but I want to know how else can you get them aside from obesity and pregnancy.

Here are some of causes of cellulite that I know about:

Female hormones - it affects women more than men and they said it was because of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. It's not fully understood yet but some says these hormones stimulate cellulite.

Lifestyle - poor diet, lack of exercise, sedentary or inactive lifestyle and smoking are said to cause cellulite formation.

I read that wearing tights, over exertion and sitting for long periods eventually leads to cellulite formation. Since blood circulation is restricted, free radicals starts to build up and cellulite is formed as a result.

Thanks for sharing mikaela, viktoria. At least we now know what causes them and avoid the foods that worsens their appearance.
