Thumbs up Why so many of us are overweight.

Why are so many of us overweight? I am sure there are many different opinions out there. I believe there is only one sure way to lose weight and keep it off. Some may say, "I just don't get enough exercise." or "I don't have enough time to eat at home, so I eat out too much to lose weight." My answer would be that we are all eating the wrong foods, the wrong calories and eating at the wrong times each day. What I don't believe is that by NOT exercising it makes us fat. I definitely do not mean we shouldn't exercise. I am simply stating that the wrong foods are helping us store fat not the lack of exercise.

In order to have weight-loss success we should eat the right foods at the right times every day. Don't you want to FEEL and LOOK better? Wouldn't be great to feel like you can do anything you want and reach all your goals? If you answered YES to either question then to lose the fat read more!

Junk foods are the reasons why more people are becoming overweight. Many love to eat foods that are rich in fats and sweets. To successfully lose weight, one must change his/her eating lifestyle by avoiding the junk and eating healthy, exercising, and drinking plenty of water.

I love to eat and that made it too difficult for me to lose weight. It took a long time for me to shed off all those fats. I slowly cut down on my calories until I lost all those unhealthy fats. It was a struggle but it paid off well. You have to be committed to losing weight and only eat what your body needs.

People who are too busy and do not have time to cook mostly go for fast foods which we all know are rich in calories. We also love to eat fatty foods that causes the body to gain weight. Eating fruits and vegetables are recommended because they are rich in fiber that helps clean the body of toxins and excess fats. It also makes us full longer without needing to eat a lot more.

That is so true viktoria! Most of the time busy people skip meals or eat in a fast food restaurant because they don't have to prepare them. It's alright to eat in fast food restaurants as long as you ensure that you eat right. Instead of eating burgers, fries, and soft drinks, go for mashed potatoes, go go sandwich, and water. They are healthy alternatives that are as delicious.

Another way of eating right when eating in a fast food restaurant is to have salad instead of fatty foods such as hotdog, burgers, and fries. Vegetables are also available and there are also healthy sandwiches to choose from. Drinking water instead of any other drink will save you almost 100 calories in your meal, always remember that. So if you really want to eat burgers or hotdogs, drink a glass of water first before having them. In doing that, you will save yourself of more than a hundred calories because you'll only be able to eat half the serving of your meal

My friends do that too . They have to trick themselves and drink plenty of water to control their appetite when we eat out. Having water instead of other drinks really help a lot in cutting down on the calories that we eat. Soft drinks increases our appetite and makes us eat more, so I never drink carbonated drinks when I eat in a fast food restaurant. Water is more than enough for me

So what do you normally eat when you go to a fast food restaurant? Don't you get tempted to have burgers and hotdogs as well?

I do get tempted to eat calorie rich foods as well viktoria. And I also eat burgers and hot dogs but I leave the bread . Proteins are fine but carbo in the form of white bread is not as healthy so I try to avoid them. I do love subway sandwiches though. They are healthy and delicious. I also eat pizza but I limit myself to one slice only and then I cut down on other foods that I eat the whole day to maintain balance. And I only have water so I don't worry about the calories on my drinks anymore.

That's great! Great food choices kathy. It's a lot of work and a lot of strength on your part to be able to resist all the delicious food
