What keeps you motivated? Did you ever reached a point where you wanted to give up on diet and exercise? If so, what kept you going?
Thanks for sharing your tips.

what keeps me motivated? I want to look good and I want to keep lookng good. Being fit boost my self confidence.
I guess I could say the same.. People look at me differently now (in a good way) and I'm getting more attention.![]()
Dieting is hard so I make sure I set small goals at a time and everytime I achieve those goals, it makes me want to achieve mo.. I love the feeling of having to accomplish something and I love seeing and feeling the results.
That's tru. I think it's also important to choose a diet that you can live with.. Otherwise, you'll just give up before you even reached your goal.. Or worst, you'll revert back to your old habits.
Hi,
What keeps me motivated is remembering my doctor telling me that based on my recent blood tests that I am at high risk for heart disease!! Numbers were out of control! So I joined Dr. Bernstein's program, lost 50 lbs and all my levels are now optimal. Seeing my blood sugar at 4 is what motivates me, seeing my blood pressure at 120/65 motivates me, dropping from a size 40 waist to a size 33" motivates me. And now I recently bought a new mountain bike and I ride 10kms a day plus work out with free weights. You just need someone to push you to make a change in your life. For me it was my doctor telling me that I was at risk for a stroke and heart attack and that did it for me and I think about that every time I see a vending machine at work, or a coffee truck or when I drive by a McDonalds and I think back at what my Doctor has told me and I fight the temptation.
Congratulations Actionman. I'm glad hear that Dr. Bernstein's program worked for you and you are no longer at risk for heart attack ot stroke. Thanks for sharing. We can all learn from this.
That's a very good motivation. Health should always be our first priority. My motivation is not as impressive as yours but it helps keep me going![]()
I won't deny that sometimes I really feel tired from dieting. But since I would love to really lose weight and be healthy, it gives me push to reach for my goals. I also love watching shows like The Biggest Looser, when I see the people there do their best, it makes me also want to do the best I can.
I also join forums and communities like this so I can meet people who'll keep me motivated. I also joined a group called Weight Challenge and I find it really good, 'coz I meet people there and have a sporty challenge about losing weight. Really cool.
I also read books about how to know myself better, so that I can be in-tune with myself more and know what I want and how will I be able to reach for it.
Sometimes, when I feel like eating chocolates (really good ones), I just tell myself that when I finally reach for my goal. I can have some little for myself and keep my weight.

I know what you mean. I sometimes feel the same way. I'm not perfect either so I also feel tired of my diet. But when I look at myself and see how much I've changed and if I remember how much effort and sacrifices I went through to reach my current weight, it makes me feel proud of myself of having to accomplish all of it.
