Oh my! That is so true kathy! I didn't see it that way before. I just eat what I can but of course I must say that most of them are fruits and vegetables. If I do eat meat products, I prefer chicken or seafoods which has fewer calories. So where did you start cutting your calories down on? Rice consumption I guess?

That's right sasa! That' was the easiest meal that anyone can cut calories on. Instead of eating my usual breakfast, I changed it to having 30g of whole wheat cereal (90 calories) with 1 cup of low fat fresh milk (120 calories) and a glass of orange juice (112 calories), that only totals to 322 calories which means that I cut down 212 calories in one meal alone. And do not under estimate the amount of cereals because they are heavy to the tummy and rich in fiber. It's delicious and healthy. If you don't like the plain whole wheat cereals you can try those that have dried fruits to add more taste. It has more calories but it will still save you a lot. Sometimes though I get tempted to eat the usual breakfast that I am used to eating. If that happens to you too, do not stop yourself. Take it slow and once you get used to eating fewer calories, you will reap all the benefits and lose weight naturally

Like I said it's best to know how much calories there are in the food we eat. What you are doing kathy is great and easy to follow as well. Dieting doesn't mean we have to limit ourselves of the food we eat. It's enjoying a healthier alternative to get the best results

That is exactly the essence of dieting viktoria. We don't need to spend so much on pills and supplements. It's a matter of discipline and changing our eating lifestyle. And we shouldn't feel bad about avoiding fatty, oily, and too much sweets because these will not help get us in best shape. To avoid health risks, we should avoid the foods that are not good for the body too.

Yes kathy, dieting has made me a lot healthier. I already stopped smoking and I don't drink either. I'm in my best shape ever and it has helped restore my self esteem. Sometimes our body craves for foods that we want to avoid, I know that because I get those episodes too . If that happens do not stop yourself, just keep it in moderation and then make up for it by exercising more and cutting some calories down on other foods you eat.

You are totally right kathy! I'm just glad that I grew up not wanting junk foods because my mom was not a fan of junk foods either. I still keep myself active though because I know my body will be a lot healthier if I exercise regularly

thanks everyone for good tips.. i am trying to loose weigtht too and am successful with eating less calories . i lost around 11 pounds over 2 months by cutting down fats and carbs and by eating more lentils, greens and fruits .. it is quite hard but happy with the success.

my usual breakfast is half cup of protein rich cereal (Go lean ) with half cup of skimmed or 1% milk
mid morning coffee and 2 crackers, for lunch a bowl of salad , 1 cup any lentils soup and a slice of bread. afternoon snack is usually a fruit and fruit yoghurt and dinner is again similar to lunch with one more slice of bread. I use olive oil spray for salads and soups and little bit butter on toast .

I am a vegetarian so it is quite hard to avoid carbs ..
I am hoping to loose another 10 pounds in two months ..
I hope it helps some one !!!

This is a great meal plan NKR! You have it perfectlt planned and the foods that you eat are healthy and you are keeping the calorie count very reasonable. I normally eat cereals in the morning too with fresh milk, a slice of fruit, and half a glass of fruit juice. For lunch I steam chicken breast with mixed veggies like sweet corn, carrots, and sweet peas. For dinner I don't normally eat much. I just have vegetable salad and fruit juice. In between meals I eat plenty of fruits and drink lots of water too

Fantastic job sasa and NKR! I actually like your meal plans by keeping them very reasonable and realistic. Anything lesser than that will make the body weak because we won't be able to supply enough energy that it needs. The most important thing is that we listen to our body and take the diet seriously by committing to it. The results are all worth it
