    Default The Big Breakfast Diet

This diet is not about what you eat but when you eat. It was said that eating a 600 calorie breakfast before 9 a.m help boost your metabolism. You can eat whatever you want for breakfast as long as you you eat with foods rich in fiber and protein. Dieters will consume 600 calories for breakfast and another 600 calories divided between lunch and dinner (total of 1,200-calorie a day). The diet claims that if you follow the plan, you could lose up to 25 pounds in 30 days.

    Has anyone tried this?

600 for breakfast and around 300 calories for lunch and dinner? I think 300 calories per meal is too little. Does it work?

I read that it does. A study was conducted to test this diet. One group was on The Big Breakfast Diet and the other was on a low carb diet. After 8 months, participants on this diet lost almost 40 pounds and the other only lost 9 pounds.

Wow! 40 pounds? I guess it really does work huh? Well, breakfast IS the most important meal of the day so I guess that theory was based from that.

Okay, so what's the drawback? I'm sure there's a least one disadvantage. I agree with kathy. 300 calories for lunch and dinner seems too little.

In my opinion, the drawback is you can't enjoy eating in social gatherings. If you were invited to a dinner or party, you can only eat 300 calories.

That's true. Now that you mentioned it, it really is a disadvantage. In fact, you might even be tempted to cheat.

Just a question, are dieters only limited to 1200 calories a day? I mean both that's the standard limit for both men and women?

Daniela Jakubowicz, author of this book, even says dieters can eat up to 3000 calories and still lose weight. However, for faster weight loss, she advise dieters to consume around 1200 calories a day.

3000 calories? That's a bit too much.. I don't believe that. Does this diet recommends some form of exercise?
