    Default The 2-4-6-8 Diet

Here's another diet that we can discuss. It's called The 2-4-6-8 Diet. This diet requires extremely low calories and the goal is to keep the metabolism at a different rate. The plan suggests you eat 200 calories on the 1st day, 400 on the 2nd day, 600 on the 3rd day and 800 calories on the 4th day and then fasting.

    Advantages

    None

    Disadvantages

Long term use could lead to serious health risk or death

Could lead to bone weakness, amenorrhea and hormonal fluctuations in women.

Advantages = none. I'm not surprised. This diet is not healthy at all. The truth is, this is the first time I heard about this diet.

I agree. I just read this diet online and no expert recommends this diet. No good can come out of this diet.

200 calories on the first day? Might as well just drink water then. I can't even imagine what food you can eat 3x a day that only totals to 200 calories. Perhaps only a few portion of fruits and vegetebles but that's not enough to make you feel full.

This is one of the diets you should never try. It's too extreme..even worst that VLCD (Very low calorie diet).

You're right. This diet might even lead to eating disorders. The goal is to keep the body's metabolism at a different rate but I think this method will only slow it down.

There are a lot of safer ways to lose weight and this is definitely not one of them. It will not only affect your metabolism, it will also affect how your body functions.

This diet is synonymous to starvation. I don't even think you can think straight if you try this diet for a week. After the fourth day, you will go on fasting. I think it's dangerous.

I'm sure people are aware that this diet is not the best option for them but some may try them anyway.

That is so true. Well, they know what they are getting themselves into. I guess I can understand them a little. Some people don't lose weight even if they do it right so if they get desperate, they might try other options even if it's not safe.
