It may be at first but you'll get the hang of it in time.. Dieting requires patience. I'm not in this diet but I am counting my calorie intake.

My aunt lost 130 pounds on weight watchers...three separate times and gained it all back (not WW fault) so I know it works for some people. I gained 12 lb the first month. I told the woman if I ate as much food as they said I should, I'd gain weight. She didn't believe me and accused me of lying. I never went back. I agree about counting points being exhausting. Probably the biggest reason I failed at so many diets was because it just too too much effort dealing with the planning and cooking.

I think that weight loss following a fad diet totally depends where a person is more comfortable with. For me counting calories is really stressful and requires a lot of control, so what I do most of the time is avoid too much fats, too much oils, too much sugar, and too much sodium. Then I cut my food (carbs and protein) into half and eat more fruits and vegetables. It makes my diet easier and I don't worry a lot of how much calories I had for the day.
I have been so used to counting my calories so I don't feel bothered counting at all. It saved my life and helped me lose 35 pounds. I always want to keep in control of what I eat and counting my calories keep me at peace
. Gaining weight for me is not an option because I have a heart condition and I want to do my best in staying healthy.
