I heard that Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen used this to lose their post pregnancy pounds. It's a french diet program and it's supposed to be stricter than Atkins or South Beach Diet.
Has anyone tried this? Is it effective?![]()

It is said to be a hard diet to follow. On the intiial stage, carbs and fats are banned and it focuses more on high protein meal plan. At the start, the only foods allow are beef, veal, poultry (no skin and excludes goose and duck), fish and seafoods and fat free dairy products.
Banned? It sounds like a very strict diet.. Vegetables and fruits are not included too.. I don't think I can give up on them.. This diet is not for me.
For Atkins and South Beach, at least they don't completely restrict carbs but this diet is all meat.. It might be a good diet plan for meat lovers...
That's true.. Some people prefer this type of diet... However, All meat and not vegetable means less fiber.. It might lead to health problems like high cholesterol level or heart disease.
You take a tablespoon and a half of oatbran a day - that gives you your fibre. and it's only all meat for the first week or so
Oh, I see.. Just the first week huh? So After the first week, do you know what foods dieters will be eating?
I just visited the The Dukan Diet website and I never thought it would be so popular..Anyway... I read that there are 4 phases in this diet..
The Attack Phase - this is the initial phase and it's pure protein diet.
The Cruise Phase - Dieters will switch to alternating protein diet
The Consolidation Phase - this is the phase designed to prevent the rebound effect so you won't regain the weight you lost.
The Stabilization Phase - this is the maintenance phase..
Good job kathy.. thanks for adding more info.. Maybe fruits and vegetables are already included on the second phase.
