    Default The O2 Diet

The O2 Diet is a diet plan that focuses foods that are high in antioxidant to help boost energy, amp up brainpower and shed pounds. The plan is based on the ORAC scale (a scientific value that represents the antioxidant levels of foods) and in this diet, you will consume a total of 30,000 ORAC a day, that's 10x the recommended daily amount which is 3000 ORAC.

Here are some of the foods that will help you lose weight:

    1. Artichokes - It's only 60 calories each and it may help lower cholesterol levels. ORAC points: 7,900

    2. Lemon water: Lemon peel is said to help with weight loss. An ounce of lemon juice and some zest to each of your eight daily glasses of water is equal to 3,200 ORAC points.

    3. Red grapefruit: One study showed that participants lost 3.6 pounds over 12 weeks by simply eating half a grapefruit with each meal. Those who drank grapefruit juice 3x a day lost 3.3 pounds. Half a grapefruit has 1,900 ORAC points.

Huh? This is totally different. It's like counting calories or points huh? Very interesting

I think this would be hard. Unlike counting calories, you can see the information on the food label. Same with weight watchers when you count points. Since these are just fruits and vegetables, it's hard to tell how much ORAC they have.

I agree with you. I'm sure the book lists those foods but it might be hard to memorize all of them.

It's rare to see a diet that focuses not just on weight loss but also good for your brain and skin. I also agree though..Counting the ORAC might be too much.

    Default The O2 Diet Rocks!

I am on The O2 Diet and it's easy to follow!! I find it refreshing because it's all about what you CAN eat, not what you CAN'T. I lost a few pounds after just 4 days on the cleanse (this is the hardest part) and now I'm surprised at how filling antioxidant-rich food can be everyday!

Sounds like a great diet. We were wondering if it will be hard to count the orac points but I'm glad to hear that its not. Thanks tmb321

There's a cleansing stage? Could you share to us your experience? In this diet, what kind of meal do you eat? Does it allow meat? Or is it just fruits and veggies?
