Gidday all. I am a 40 y.o. Australian guy and I was overweight. I weighed 120kg for most of my adult life until I turned 29. I was diagnosed with heart failure and was told to lose some weight. What I did was stop eating "crap" and start eating PROPERLY. No diets, I just watched what I ate and how much. I went from 120 down to 96kg in around 6 months. Gave up the beer and softdrinks, did a bit more walking, going for a ride on the pushy with the kids and walking instead of driving. No diets. My wife on the other hand has a bit of trouble. She looks at food and puts weight on. She found the best way was with Weight Watchers and similar types of places as you have to go there and be scrutenised every week. This worked well, but the enthusiasm for walking and doing outside things isn't there. I'm not going to preach to you how to live your life, or what to eat, but I can tell you that if you stay overweight for a long time you will end up with some serious health issues. I was on the heart transplant list for a little while, but taken off it when I started looking after myself a bit. I also had a cardiac arrest, but that's another story.

Good luck to all you guys and ladies in your weight loss endeavours. But remember, you only get results from perserverance and a bit of hard work.
