Is food your guilty leisure? Did a new diet start today? Is TV a guilty pleasure for
Christians? Resolving? I admit it, food and tv have been my guilty pleasuress. My resolve to loose weight has kicked in today!!! How about you???
I tried to distract myself on line, from both!
I loose track of time on "YA" some times, and skip the snacks in the house, that I crave; or the TV shows that addict me.
My wife's favourite soap opera is Days of Our Lives. Ohh, despite the fact that she's a preacher's daughter, who went to bible college.
I started watching it, when I broke my leg, to keep Cece updated whenever she missed it due to work.
Hobbling at home, she works more and more; and now those adulterous, but loveable, sweet sinners are my "friends" that I feel the need to keep track of now.
I'm kinda ashamed of the "interesting" things on TV. If Christians controlled the air waves what would TV be like? Boring? Shmaltsy?
Maybe that would be OK, if we could finally ween ourselves away!
I'm not bragging, I'm complaining. What is YOUR guilty pleasure? Resolutions?
I have to admit that I love "Days of our Lives"; but so far I've managed to not watch all the other soaps, including a very good one, that comes on right after it, starring one of the former stars of "Days".
I think the other show is better written, but that's because I only watch about once a week.
Watching "Days of our Lives" daily is certainly too much of a good thing.
My dad's favorite saying about over eating is "Too much of anything is poison".
Are you poisoning your soul with too much adultery and violence on TV? Or too much food?? Or BOTH!?!
I'm not the only one, am I? For New Years I resolve to be less obsessive about entertainment, food, etc.
I sit in front of my computer thinking I just traded one "boob tube" for another one. I plan to cut down on my "YA" time too, and free myself up for real life!
