    Default What happened to me.

You get used to the taste of the shakes. The vanilla ones are the easiest to deal with because you can add different fruits such as strawberries to them and they taste fine.

I did run into a problem with the shakes myself over the long haul because my body does not metabolize mucus in foods. You will remember I talked about mucus forming and mucus free foods. A normal person has no problem with the shakes in this respect. Now I live on a 90% fruit diet with a few veggies and a bit of fish now and then. My health continues to improve.

A short time ago, I was spiralling into pneumonia. Normally when this happens, it's a life threatening event. The last time two years ago, I was flat on my back for two months. This time with the high fruit diet and the Isagenix Supreme, I killed it in four days.

That was combined with another technique popularly known in Indian cultures as Neti Pot. It was popularized on the Oprah Winfrey show. It's a method of flushing your sinuses out. Having your sinuses constantly clogged not only adds to the misery of colds, flue, bronchitis and pneumonia, they make it worse by continually re-infecting the rest of your respiratory system.

As good as the Neti Pot system is, the method I use is infinitely better. I use a large barreled hypodermic needle without the needle. Basically it's like a squirt gun and you aim the spray up each nostril as you inhale.

Before you do that, you need to have your head in the sink so that the top of your head is aimed down into the sink drain. Your body in profile would look like a question mark.

With your head upside down, the water goes straight into your sinus cavities, not into your lungs. So you can't possibly drown.

You need to use 6 oz. of purified water heated to body temperature with about a 1/4 teaspoon of seasalt, not iodized salt mixed in. If there isn't enough salt, the inside of your nose will sting and feel uncomfortable. If there is enough salt you will feel fine though water logged.

Once you have the solution up your nose inhale in and out. It will gurgle and make all sorts of noise. Then blow your nose. Lots of muck will come out.

When you get the hang of it pinch your nose shut after squirting the water in and stand up. Slowly release your nose. That will let the water run down the back of your throat. It will make you gag a bit. That will make you spit it out and when you do, you will spit out all the phlegm that would normally be trapped in the void between your nasal passages and your throat. The salt water dislodges the goo like nothing else.

If you do this before bed, it will make a huge difference in your ability to sleep. Combine that with the Isagenix Supreme and even though you are deep into your misery and wake up every hour to pee, you will sleep in between.

You have to do the urination thing as needed because that's how your body rinses out the toxins. The idea is to drink as much as you can to encourage the urination cycle to start. Once it does, you are on your way to healing.

Isagenix Supreme is made with fruits, herbs and trace minerals so there is nothing mucus forming about them.

Normally, you have a shot glass of Supreme before going to bed - that is once a day. While I was staving off pneumonia, I had a shot glass of the stuff every hour. Plus I made smoothies of mango, papaya, strawberries and whatever other fruit was around. That was three times a day with occasional snacks of other fruits in between. I also took the Isagenix vitamins for men and a Shaklee Vitalea vitamin.

It also took three shots of my puffer (I have asthma) on one day only.

That defeated the pneumonia before it was able to migrate from my head to my lungs. When you've had pneumonia as often as I have, you know what's coming - you can taste it and feel it. It isn't like a cold, it's much worse.

So that was four days versus two months of misery. When I knew for certain that it was more than an ordinary sinus infection, I made an appointment on the Thursday with my family doctor. I couldn't see him before Monday. But by Monday, I'd completely forgotten the doctor's appointment. But when I made it I told the nurse I wasn't sure I was going to live that long and she asked if she should make arrangements for me at the hospital. I decided against it.

Now the thing is, when I have these attacks, at some point asthma kicks in and when it does, it depletes my energy fast because I can't stop coughing. Using the puffer strategically at the beginning headed that disaster off at the pass. While I didn't get through the incident with no medicinal intervention, I did far better than I ever have since the age of about eight.

One last thing - I did have about four packages of Liptons Chicken Noodle Soup. That was the only non-fruit through the entire ordeal.

My wife on the other hand has still not lost an ounce on Isagenix. But she's still taking it because it provides a no-brainer complete breakfast that is fast and easy to make. She hasn't gained weight either and she still isn't exercising. I think we can all agree, changing your diet is not enough. Diet and exercise have to go hand in hand to get any results at all once you have abused yourself with previous diets.

That shake breakfast makes a big difference to her day right from the outset. She doesn't particularly like the taste either but the benefits far outweigh the taste.

When emailing with the Isagenix person I bought it from...she says " oh you are gaining muscle".. now, I am no trainer..but don't you have to exercise to BUILD MUSCLE??? It doesn't grow on you because you drink a healthy shake.

Anyways..they took my money and now when I email her, I get no response.

The ingrediences sounds great on the bottles..don't get me wrong...it might be good for some people...maybe people with health issues that really need to get healthy. But I would not recommend it to anybody as I think it is not worth the money.

I decided to do Atkins (I did it about 3 years ago with amazing results) and jsut finished 3 weeks today...lost 12 lbs. I don't plan on being on Atkins forever, but I am 3 pounds from my pre-pregancny weight. And Atkins DIDN'T COST ME ANY MONEY!!!
To Get Real, Of course they wont recommend it to you, they are trying to give you drugs, there was even a documentary where doctors only want you so they can sell drugs to you.

To chestanch, breh, my mom is taking this, shes in the best shape of her life right now, she can run miles without stopping, It is worth the money, you just found your "Ideal wieght" so it will stay there, isagenix is not all about losing weight, its about gaining optimum health, some isagenix users, will tell you, once your on the product, after a year or two, you grab a burger from mac donalds, you can taste all the fat and grease because your palette has adjusted to "Super Food" like isagenix.

Well, I have to agree with Get Real.

I dumped Isagenix after two weeks. I was constipated, which I never am, and I was so lethargic and drained of energy it was ridiculous. I also did not lose much weight. I think my body went into starvation mode.

Then I looked at the Isagenix website and wished I had checked it out prior to buying the 30 day program. It is multi-level marketing of gimmicky diet stuff. Unless you stick with it for the rest of your life I can see gaining back everything and more. It has truly made me understand that Weight Watchers is the best program for me.

The only benefit of Isagenix was that it got me started on a weight loss and fitness program. However, I am more or less following the Weight Watchers program and I feel much better and have lost weight. Now the real thing is to keep from sliding back to large portions and to maintain more, but smaller, meals through the day. That is what any dietician or trainer will tell you is the best and most logical way to keep your metabolism going. That and the right choice in food of course!

Skipping meals is never a god thing because it will only make you crave for more food when you get hungry. Try eating the right food at the right time and you will lose weight. The key is self control and patience.

I agree that skipping meals is not a good thing. Our body needs the food and we need to feed it to avoid any other health effects when we skip meals. They also gain more weight instead of losing them because they have bigger chance of eating unhealthy snacks to boost their energy.

Nothing good can come from skipping meals. Some think that it is a great way to cut down on calorie intake but it will only make you eat more when you get too hungry. I have been there and it's did not give me good results. If you want to consume lesser calories to lose weight, eat lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. It makes you full longer and healthier too

The most recent posters don't seem to have read the beginning of this thread. It is almost impossible to become constipated on the Isagenix program. Fasting is not about skipping meals and going hungry.

Do not bother replying to this thread. Just go to the first post and read through to my last post.

If you don't get it after that you are brain dead.

If you are going to critique something, have an understanding of what it is and how it works first, beyond the first knee-jerk reaction that pops into your head. Isagenix does not *ever* advocate fasting. When you are on the Isagenix program, there is a constant flow of nutrients into the body, even on cleanse days when you are not having a traditional "meal". Fasting is harmful because it puts the body into starvation mode, and eventually (after about 48 hours) causes the body to start digesting it's own muscle tissue for energy. This does NOT happen with Isagenix. Seriously people, this is a very legitimate and effective program based on the latest verifiable science.

And to the person who said this:

"When emailing with the Isagenix person I bought it from...she says " oh you are gaining muscle".. now, I am no trainer..but don't you have to exercise to BUILD MUSCLE??? It doesn't grow on you because you drink a healthy shake."

Actually, that's exactly what happens, to some degree. Most people are protein-deficient in their diet, and when you start taking in the high-quality organic non-denatured whey protein in Isagenix, which has active enzymes for the highest bio-availability (absorption) possible, the body grabs it, and you generally *will* see some muscle growth just from that. Don't forget, we *all* exercise every day, just from our regular daily activities. Obviously you are not going to see a massive change, however it is definitely measurable. This is *especially* true with women, who are generally more protein-deficient than men. This is also exactly why it is a poor indicator of results to look at just the scale, you generally WILL build muscle while losing fat... so if you lost 5lbs in 30 days, it's likely that you lost 10lbs of body fat and gained 5lbs of muscle, or whatever the particular breakdown was for you. I have put literally hundreds of people through this program and I have seen the same duplicatable results time after time after time. It just simply works if you follow it, and the science is certainly there to explain and back it up.

But, it's easier for uneducated, uninformed people to throw in their 2-second cliche reaction than it is for them to actually research what they are commenting on. So, take that for what it's worth.

    signed,
Continuing to be at healthy goal weight and optimal health, now 2.5 years after starting this program... and extremely grateful for it.
