Default What are some good excercises to help tone the mid-section?

I am a little chubby around the mid-section. I am 5'4" and 14 years old. I wear size medium- mostly large in shirts (size medium-mostly small in t-shirts) and I was wondering if there are any excercises that will help tone the mid-section in about 1-3 months. Something easy though. What about hula-hooping?

Unfortunatley muscle lies underneath fat, so in order to look "toned" you'll have to burn some of it off. I think Hula Hooping is a good start-- anything cardio, really. But if you're looking for something that's "easy" it will take some time. My best tip to you is to really focus on contracting your abs whenever you exercise. Just remembering to keep your ab muscles tightened during hula hooping (or any other cardio) will make a huge difference.

Also, if you're a soda drinker, you'll notice weight loss just from cutting back- the amount of sugar in soda drinks cause a lot of people to hold on to extra weight
