Default Help with nutrition and food?

I was wondering, I always have breakfast snack lunch dinner, and for breakfast lunch and dinner I ALWAYS have 1 item from each food group because I feel that will give me the nourishment I need, but latley I have been packing on some pounds(about 2-3) in the past month from eating about 500 calories more than I used to because I jsut started incorperating every food group in all my meals. I was wondering, can I still be healthy AND not have to have each food group at every meal because it's jsut too many extra calories?
If anything I have more carbs than anything in my diet but every single thing I eat is HEALTHY...I'm a health freak
Oh and my portions are REGULAR SIZE PORTIONS

ex.1cup cereal.1cup couscous

1st. what about your activity level, are you working out regularly or at all?
2nd how about an example of what your daily food intake is like. just so i can better help you with your question
it is not necessary to have everything from the food group every day. try to have certain things one day and differnt things the next day, and keep alternating each day.
