Default Foods Women Should Eat More Of

    Woman

    1. Broccoli - Contains phytonutrients that helps neutralize carcinogens and helps the body rid of cancer-causing toxins. It also contains indole-3-carbinol and kaempferol which helps reduce the risk of cervical, breast and ovarian cancers and helps suppress the spread of existing cancer. It also helps reduce bloating and water retention during premenstrual syndrome.

    2. Onions - helps reduce risk of osteoporosis in women, who are 4x likely to develop this disease compared to men. High consumption of onions also reduces risk of breast and ovarian cancers.

    3. Leafy greens - Kale is the one of the best sources of kaempferol helps reduce risk of heart disease; spinach is high in iron which is important for menstruating and pregnant women. Kelp, swiss chard and turnip greens are also excellent sources of magnesium, which helps strengthening the immune system, lowering high blood pressure, strengthening bones, relaxing muscles, aiding in sleep, and relieving stress and anxiety.

    4. Beans - high in fiber (which helps lowers LDL ("bad") cholesterol, regulates digestion, helps control weight, and has a preventive effect on diabetes and heart disease) and potassium (which helps reduces risk of developing kidney stones). Beans like soybeans also helps ease menopausal hot flashes.

    5. Wild Salmon - Vitamin D deficiency has been linked with depression, multiple sclerosis (women have higher risk than men). Low levels of vitamin D is also linked with obesity and increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Wild Salmon is rich in Vitamin D which reduces risk of these conditions.

Great post viktoria. I love Broccoli and it's good to know it helps reduce risk of cancers in women. I'm not a fan of onions though but I'll try to eat more of it now.

I agree. This is a very good post. Women should take advantage of the benefits of these foods and it's best include them in their daily diet.

I love steamed broccolli and I love eating raw onions. My mom said broccolli is good for digestion but I didn't know it also fights cancer. As for vitamin D, you can also get them by being exposed to sunlight at least 15 minutes in the morning, between 7-9am, I think.

I know this is late but thanks guys. I'm glad you liked this post. These foods are healthy and would be a great addition to our diet, especially salmon. I love salmon.
