    Default Milk and Weight Loss

I read that one study showed that women who drank 2 glasses (500 ml) of fat free milk after weightlifting exercise gained more muscles and lost more fat than women who drank energy drinks. The study lasted for 12 weeks and after the weigh in, women who drank milk barely gained any weight since their fat loss was balanced out by the lean muscles they gained.

They explained that it could be the protein, calcium and vitamin D in milk that made it effective for weight loss.

Does it have to be fat free? I mean I drink skim milk, does that count?

That's right, fat free is skim milk so you can drink it after your workout for you to experience the same results.

That's great then.. I will try that. 12 weeks is a long time but I guess it's okay.. The theory is the same as the chocolate milk diet huh? That diet was designed based on the idea that calcium helps you lose weight.

I love milk. I am a self confessed milk lover. I drink a glass in the morning and in the evening. Skimmed Milk too. I sometimes eat the milk on its powdered form. I take a small cup and pour milk and consider it as my snack in the late afternoon.

This is actually the first time I have learned that milk helps in losing weight. Really very cool.

You too? That's great! I thought I was the only one who eats powdered milk but I only do it twice a month.
