Default Consumer Group to sue McDonald's over Happy Meals

I read from WebMD that Mcdonald's may be sued by Consumer Groups. By ordering a Happy Meal, a child would get a free toy thus, promoting unhealthy eating habits to children. They were given 30 days to stop their toy related promotions or they will be sued. They considered such promotions as "unfair and deceptive".

I think one of the reasons for the increasing number of overweight children today is because of their unhealthy eating habits. But are fast food chains like Mcdonald's really are to blame for all this?

    What's your opinion?

I think the promotion is really effective to attract kids and they can be very persistent about things they want to have.. I don't really know who's to blame on this..

I wouldn't say that parents are too blame too since they take their children to fast food restaurants for this. I have a niece and it's really hard to say no to her. If she wants the toys offered by Mcdonald's, I'd take her there.

I don't think anything will change. Even if Mcdonald's stop promoting toys, that won't stop children from eating fast food..

I agree. Children can still eat unhealthy foods. I think parents should be more strict about buying junk foods or taking their kids to fast foods restaurants.
