A healthful diet should include:
a. Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits - as opposed to canned veggies and juices
b. Lean proteins - Lean cuts of meat, white meat poultry, low-fat milk and cheese, etc.
c. Whole grains
d. Nuts, seeds and legumes - Nuts can be a healthy source of fats, just don't overdo.
e. Healthful fats such as flax oil, extra-virgin coconut oil and extra-virgin olive oil.
