    Default Acne Diet

Most of the reasons why people get acne is increase in hormones in teenage years as this can cause the oil glands to plug up more than often, hormone changes during pregnancy, stopping or starting birth control pills, heredity, some medicine,or greasy makeup. This can be very hard to the person affected because this can sometimes cause depression if the acne is not cured.

Have you tried everything from buying expensive skin care cosmetics to seeking help from a dermatologist and still suffer from acne? Maybe you should look into your diet to see if that is what's causing your skin to breakout.

Here are some things that anyone suffering from acne breakouts can do to avoid acne breakouts based on studies conducted by nutritionists and dermatologists.

    • Eat 20 to 30 grams of fiber everyday as this helps keep the colon clean and helps remove toxins from the body before it even reaches the skin
    • Go for low fat diet as high fat consumption may increase hormone levels in the body that causes skin conditions such as acne
    • Avoid peanut products as they were found to cause acne breakouts
    • Avoid fried foods because it is found to cause acne flare ups.
    • Lessen table salt or iodized salt intake as studies have found that people with acne have high levels of iodine in their blood stream during acne breakouts.
    • Avoid salty snacks such as chips, canned foods, and lunch meats because these foods are high in salt and in some cases, fat.
    • Avoid dairy products like cheese, milk, and icecream
    • Avoid highly processed carbohydrates like sodas, candies, and baked goods because they raise the insulin level in the blood that may cause the levels of acne-causing hormones in the body to rise as well.

I for one have suffered from acne breakouts when I barely have pimples. One thing that I noticed was the increase in fatty foods and junk foods consumption. So giving them is not only good for my weight but also helped me fight acne.

My friend could use this tip because she has been suffering from acne breakouts even with continued attempts to get rid of them. Maybe it already has something to do with the diet because she does love to eat fatty foods.

Acne breakouts are very hard to cure and get over so people suffering from it should really consider looking after their diet because it does affect the skin as well. If you eat a lot of fatty foods, make sure that you also drink a lot of water to clean some of them up.

I think most of us if not all at some point have had acne problems too. I had one bad breakout that really made me depressed. It turned out that it was an allergic reaction to a vitamins that I was taking. The acne flare up stopped the moment I started taking the vitamins.

That is good to hear viktoria! Identifying the source will help a lot in curing acne. There are many cosmetics available to control oil and relieve our skin from acne but sometimes it won't help that much if consumption of oily foods are not moderated or avoided.

Taking vitamins A, C and B6 will also help control acne break outs. Dandelion or strawberry tea can also help correct the problem and it is available in your local health food store.

I don't know if it's been scientifically proven but eating tomotoes (raw), banana, and green bell peppers helped prevent breakouts for me. I didn't know that peanuts also cause breakouts. I eat nuts 2x a week, especially roasted ones, but I never had a breakout though. I guess it's best to avoid it just to be sure. =D

Tomatoes and bananas? That's new.. Maybe it's just a coincidence. I'm lucky enough not to have breakouts as well but I'll eat these foods anyway. It's best to prevent them from surfacing.

Cutting out the sugars and greasy foods really does help you just have to be consistant with it. proactive works well if you are very consistant with it...but that is often hard to do. there's a lot of contraversy on the effects of dieting on acne but you just have to try it....it will probably take 2-3 weeks to notice any change. good luck.
