Default Eating habits that boost metabolism

Here are some of the eating habits you can observe to boost your metabolism. This will help in burning more fats in your body and lose more weight. I hope you like it

1.) Make sure your meals are around 400 calories, the amount needed to fuel your body while keeping you satisfied, translating into effortless weight loss.

2.) Eat a meal after 3 - 4 hours to prevent over eating. a 150-calorie snack midmorning and midafternoon between three meals (about 430 calories each) will keep your metabolism humming.

3.) Don't avoid caffeine as this can boost your metabolism. A cup of brewed tea can increase your metabolism by 12%

4.) Choose whole wheat carbs instead of white to increase your fiber intake. Some fibers can increase your fat burn by 30%. Aim for about 25 g a day--the amount in about three servings each of fruits and vegetables.

5.) Drink 8 cups of cold water a day as it can raise resting metabolism by about 50 calories daily

6.) Go organic because foods that contain high levels of pesticides can interfere with energy burning process.

7.) Do not forget your protein to maintain lean muscle. Protein can up postmeal calorie burn by as much as 35%.

8.) Load your body with iron as it is essential for carrying the oxygen the muscles need to burn fat. You run the risk of low energy and a sagging metabolism if you lack iron.

9.) Vitamin D is important for preserving metabolism-revving muscle tissue. Eat more of salmon, tuna, shrimp, tofu, fortified milk and cereal, and eggs.

10.) Don't drink too much because you burn less fat and more slowly than usual when you drink. Knocking back the equivalent of about two martinis can reduce your body's fat-burning ability by up to 73%.

Great post mikaela! This is very helpful and I like the ideas a lot. I'm sure our members will like it too. I don't eat white carbs anymore. Whole wheat pasta and breads tastes the same once you get used to it. It's not bad at all. It still makes spaghetti and lasagna tastes delicious. Right now I am also trying to go organic. It's more expensive but definitely healthier

You're welcome kathy! When I actually read about these, it gave me more motivation to increase my water intake . Organic foods are indeed more expensive but if we think about the benefits that our body gets from this natural food, we gain more and it's not expensive at all
