Unhappy Hi, I need some advice...

Well like my title says, I need some help/advice.

First off, heres my situation. I'm in college, a senior with A LOT of courses. I'm always bogged down with home work, essay's, etc. I have 8 hour school day's, so I don't have much free time, when I get out of school, most time's I'm doing homework for several hours until I crash at night from being over exausted. I'm about 900 miles from home, so I'm not with my parents, I have to work on the weekends because my parents couldn't afford them selves to put myself through college. So with work and school, I have NO time for "personal" things. As most people I've put on some weight while at school because I can't afford to buy all the healthy foods I'd like to eat, and as well I don't have the time for proper excerise. Honestly the most excercise I get, is probably walking around campus all day long.

So now that you know what my situtation is, I'd like to ask this. Is there any foods that I can eat that would help me lose weight, or make it easier to lose weight. Also is there any excercises that I can do in my everyday routine that won't take up time and throw my grades and job out the door.

Thanks in advance for reading this and posting if you do.

welcome to site, depending on what you do eat during the day, if its fast food, cut out the fries, get a salad for lunch, and if your going to McD's, try this, get a salad, and a chicken burger, take the chicken out of bun, and break up and put in salad, this way the salad has some flavor, and your avoiding the bun. If you pack a lunch, try whole grain bread instead of white, instead of potatoes, have 2 veggies. more fish instead of red meat. Use a vinager base salad dressing instead of a milk/cream base,
when you get up a few simple exercies, like 5 or 10 of anything, after lunch same, and after supper, same. do this everyday, and it will start to show, this way not much time is taken but working in correct direction. And for potatoe chips, Forget them for a few months. Snacks have fat free cookies, or sugar free, as sugar turns to a carb if not burnt off. And carbs turn into fat. Hope this helps.

    Hi there ,
guess most working people know this problem, and believe me it won´t get much better past college . So if you don´t want to gain more and more weight over the next years you better learn to handle this. As wildman said, try to eat as much fruits and veggies as possible. They´re low in calories, easy to prepare, and mostly less expensive than McDumb.

Do you know that Jumping Jack is a great cardio workout and you burn more calories compared to running in treadmill? Doing this will increase your heart rate which will help increase the calories you burn. It will also help speed up your metabolism which is one of the factors in losing weight. This will not take much of your time and it is very easy to do. Doing this for 15 - 20 minutes everyday will help improve your stamina and endurance. As far as eating healthy, wildman said it all. Avoid white bread and instead go for wheat breads. Also try to avoid fried foods as this sabotages your diet. Go for fresh, boiled, or steamed foods. Avoid sodas because it's very rich in sugar and drink water instead. You save money and also cut back on calories.

Most students gain weight because they don't have time to exercise anymore and there aren't much healthy foods available at the cafeteria. They normally go to fast food restaurants to fill their stomach. Packing your lunch will help control food portions and keep it healthy. You can prepare salad and add some tuna flakes and a fruit. I agree with only drinking water because you indeed save your waist from all the sugar. Walking around campus for 30 minutes will help you burn calories so keep it up. Taking the stairs is a good exercise as you can burn an amazing 300 calories in 30 minutes!

Really?! Wow thanks for letting us know dazzler! I'll try walking up and down the stairs for 30 minutes then to burn more calories. I'm getting a little bored of my routine so this is a good alternative and I can burn more

I'm glad I could help Mikaela. I do try that whenever I can and it gets my heart pumping so hard after 3 minutes!
