Thanks for posting the risks of rapid weight loss. It's important that we know the negative effects of losing too much weight in such a short period of time. I'm sure that dieters have been on this situation at some point in their lives because we all want to see the effects immediately. This post should make us think that it's not all good but could hurt our health.

You're welcome kathy. I had to learn from my experience. When I was younger and didn't know about dieting too well, I thought that dieting means not eating. I didn't exercise either so what happened was I got the body I want but I suffered from acid reflux. I also experienced mestrual irregularities and I was always dizzy. The negative effects are definitely not worth it because it's too painful. I'd rather focus on proper diet and exercise.

I think most of us who don't really understand what dieting means, to us dieting is skipping meals and depriving yourself of foods. I was like that too when I was younger . After years of yo-yo dieting and joining this forum, I learned that what I was doing to my body was not healthy and not helpful at all. Although nowadays my sleeping habits has changed a lot because I stay up too late working for months now and I normally wake up late and can't eat breakfast anymore. I just make sure that I eat something when I get up like an oatmeal or a sandwich to keep me energized. Bottom line is don't feel bad if your weight loss is slow because rapid weight loss either is not good for you.

When you first begin dieting, you may lose weight quickly and easily. But as your diet continues, your weight loss may reach a plateau, even if you're exercising and eating healthy foods. Don't be discouraged -- instead, continue focusing on eating a variety of healthy foods in moderation and getting exercise most days of the week to break through your plateau and hit your weight-loss goal. Talk to your doctor before changing your diet and exercise routine.

Hi dazzler , i completely agree with you and even i have also tried to fast loose weight, but i faced a lot of problem and the major was hair loss. So, i stopped immediately and consulted with the doctor and he suggested me to take a slow diet. So, i will advise not to try to give much pressure in weight loss.
