    Default Heart Healthy Tips

    Keeping our heart strong is what we need to care about. The question is, do you know how to take care of it? Here are some heart healthy tips for you all:

    Eat Fruits & Vegetables
    These are high in vitamins, minerals, fiber, low in calorie, and high in antioxidants which may help in preventing chronic disease.

    Focus on Fiber
    Why? Because it keeps the body's digestive system running smoothly and feel full which is a key to weight management. Another important point is that soluble fiber helps lower cholesterol.

    Go for Low-Fat Dairy
    Go low to reduce the amount of saturated fat and calories in your diet

    Watch Your Sodium Intake
    Lower your sodium intake as it can raise blood pressure

    Eat the Right Fats
    Cut back on saturated fats, avoid trans fats and stick with unsaturated fats

    Go for Omega-3 Fatty Acids
    Omega-3s lower fat in the blood, help maintain the "good" cholesterol, and decrease the risk of sudden heart attacks, blood clots and stroke. T

    Exercise
    Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise everyday. This will only only help burn fats but also raise "good" cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

    Drink Some Wine
    Alcohol in wine, beer and distilled spirits has been shown to protect the heart by increasing "good" cholesterol. Also, wines are rich in antioxidants which are good for the body and the heart. One drink per day for women and 2 drinks per day for men

    Oh yeah me and my mom drinks wine almost everyday. She always makes sure she has one prepared because she always say that it's good for the heart. Now I have more good reasons in drinking wine everyday. Thanks mikaela!

    It's not fair. Why do men need more wine than women? It's better for us to drink wine than have beer because it is also rich in carbs and that may cause beer belly. Wine is more expensive but definitely healthier. I don't think I can drink that much wine though because I get tipsy when I have half a glass. Maybe a good way to put me to sleep though

    i have noticed thru my yrs of parting. that woman that drink wine, really dont need much. to get a little shall we say "more sociable." wine makes me a little sleepy. as the beer makes me want to keep going. and tequila well thats a subject for the pole dance forum.

    Haha that gave me a serious laugh. Drinking wine does make me sleepy too but it's a good thing because I sleep soundly when I get a glass of wine before going to bed. I don't like the taste the beer much. Beer tastes different on men than it is on women, and the guys taste them better that's why they like it a lot . My mom likes drinking wine everyday too and she always say that it is good for the heart and I believe her.
