We all have to be very aware of what we eat as it can affect our heart. To avoid heart illness, here are some guidelines:

1) Beware of caffeine, MSG, and other food additives so if you are a coffee lover, remember to take it in moderation.
2) Monounsaturated fatty acids make up the rest of total fat intake, about 10 to 15 percent of total calories daily.
3) Sodium consumption should be no more than 3000 milligrams per day.
4) Daily fat intake should be less than 30% of total daily calories
5) Cholesterol shouldn't be more than 300 milligrams per day.
6) Intake of polyunsaturated fatty acid shouldn't be more than 10% of total calories daily.
7) Saturated fatty acid consumption should be less than 10% of total daily calories
