    Default New to Forum

    This is my first post to this forum. I am 51 years old and need to lose about 30-40 pounds. Currently I am trying to keep my calories under 1500 (1800 on the weekends!) and working with a low GI type diet. My progress is slow but I don't feel deprived. I have lost 8 pounds since the middle of November. My goal is to be another 30 pounds thinner by May when my daughter graduates with her Masters degree.

    Hello JJCaraker! I am also new to this forum and I have to say that I this is a great site to learn not only how to lose weight but also how to stay healthy. I also lost about 35 lbs from counting my calories. Right now I limit my daily calorie intake to 1000-1200. However I started slow and the progress indeed was not not fast but I agree that you do not feel deprived. You can give your body time to adjust to the diet if you take your time too. I never wanted to be hard on myself when I started dieting because I know that if I deprive myself of food, at some point I may give up and get too "hungry". So right now I am happy with my weight and my achievement. I'm sure that you can do that too.

    Hello all! I am new to this Forum and am finding so much valuable information!

    I work for Gourmet For Life- a gourmet meal delivery company in South Florida. We are based on the Zone Diet! I love the food.
