Thread: how long does hair have to be to do fusion?

i have short spikey hair ,but had lapband weight surgery almost 3mts. ago and want a new me.

At least a couple of inches. Maybe less. You just need enough for the small metal ring and ITIP hair strand to be crocheted onto your hair and clamped. Congrats on the new you- I bet you'll look great!

I read that it needs to be at least 2 or 3 inches in length to do fusion.

hi i'm a hairdresser and trained in hair extensions...

to do fusion/bonded hair extensions, hair needs to be least 3 inches or so in order to cover the bonds to make it look more natural. also with funsion, you should only get extensions that are twice as long as ur hair already other wise u end up with extensions that look very unatrual for your natural legnth of hair (aka the britney spears look)

be wary tho - fusion/bonded/glue extensions tend to damage hair due to the chemicals and heat used to apply them and also due to the fact they can pull on the hair causing bald spots (aka victoria beckham). also with these exentsions, u have to b careful what shampoos and hair products u use as these can weaken the bonds.

i usually say if u do want extensions, i reconmend weave in 1s but @ present ur hair isnt long enough, so i wud suggest fusion/bond extensions.
