Can you help with weight loss?
I've tried everything! Exercise, no carbs, no breads, no pastas, no sugars, no sodas, eating smaller more frequent meals...EVERYTHING! Pilates has been the only thing to help a little...but I'm hoping for more suggestions! I want to be in shape and healthy, like I was before I had my son. I'm not lazy, and I do and will exercise. If anyone knows anything, please let me know...I'm doing all I can to prevent from having the lapband surgery or the gastric bypass. Thank you!
I've been working on this for about 5 years now. My doctor says I have no issues with insulin/diabetes, and he can't seem to pinpoint any problems with my metabolism. I will check out the hormones, though. I've heard about the cold showers, and I actually do that a few times a week. I drink green and white teas, occasionally black, with very little honey. I'm not trying to get skinny, but I would like to be able to lose enough weight to be in a healthy weight range for my 5'2" height.
The suggestions you have all mentioned are great! I will definitely check into them!
I do appreciate all the answers I have received. But I do, however, want to clarify one thing. I do not do the crash diets, nor do I expect overnight results. I am mentally prepared to work hard, plan ahead, and do whatever I have to do to lose the weight. I just need some options that I may have overlooked. Thank you all again!

Have you had your hormones checked? I asked my dr. about this too. There is a trifecta of hormones that involve weight loss: cortisol, thyroid and insulin. If any of these are off, it makes it difficult to lose weight, even with diet and exercise. I would check with your dr.
I'm sure you've prob. heard this before as well, but you might be eating too little. You don't want to starve your body. I've found that eating a lot a couple days a week gets my metabolism revved up for more dieting, it seems to be working so far. Good luck.
Also, I've been going to the gym for almost two months, three times a week, plus walking several miles a day and I just started to see results this week, which sucks, but it might just take more time.

you havent done enough exercise, build a really tough exercise routine join forums like bodybuilding.com and get help with working out to lose fat and gain fitness there.
dont cut out carbs so much, they are your energy source and without energy you cant work out or live, also if you cut out carbs so much your body has to turn to other means of energy and you may find you increase your fat intake.
don't have to reduce your food intake, just replace the bad foods with good foods - try eating 8 portions of fruit a day see how that feels.
it does take months and maybe even years to get the body and fitness you want, losing fat isnt an easy job done in 1 week.
taking cold showers every morning will do incredible stuff for you - they will revalitise you and give you more energy in the day than any amount of tea/coffee ever will. cold showers unfortunately are one of these things not many people have heard about - please give them a try.

Can you help with weight loss?
ok, you're still eating too much... your body can't burn the food you are taking in faster than you are eating.....
try Jenny Craig tecnique.. eat 3 meals a day... anything you want, but use a tiny plate... about half the size of a cereal bowl.. fit all the food you can on it and enjoy.... remember only 3 meals a day! not 4 or 5... if you don't feel hunger pains than you are still eating too much...
it's a lifestyle change.. so prepare yourself mentally first.. if you have those operations, you will gain the wieght back within a year.. you have to change your eating habbits all together...
when you rreach your desired weight you can beginto eat on bigger dishes...... good luck

Can you help with weight loss?
This is what I have been doing and it is working....I eat breakfast everyday! Watch your callories, I have been trying to stay under 1200 a day. Drink lots of water and possibly one diet drink on a special day. For dinner cut your portions in 1/2. If you have to have a snack, keep grapes or apples in the fridge. I also eat light popcorn in the evening if everyone else is munching. It only has 45 calories for the whole bag. I walk on the treadmill 3 miles every day.
Good luck!

Ask your doctor if doing this will hurt some condition that you may have before you do it. Ask him to check your thyroid and for diabetes, this will make a difference in your ability to lose weight.
If you have no medical problems and you are looking for overnight results, you will be disappointed.
Diets don't work for long, most people gain the weight right back after they stop.
Before you can lose weight you have to be willing to change your lifestyle eating and exercise patterns . Most people are not willing to do this.
If I had a quick solution, I would be a millionaire.
What I have seen work is quite simple really, juice. This must become your new life. Do this forever and you will lose weight and feel very good and full of energy.
Fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable juice is full of enzymes and vitamins, heat destroys all of this so it must be home made and used right away or kept in an airtight container for a few hours. Drink fresh juice until noon; a glass for breakfast and at 10am.
You can have a juice or veggie lunch.
For supper eat a healthy meal of steamed veggies with protein OR starch. Never mix starches and proteins in same meal eg. meat and veggies OR potatoes and veggies, but never meat and potatoes.
I goes without saying that you should stay away from fried foods and candy, cake, ice cream etc.
Think natural, if its processed then it provably is not going to do you any good.
A good starting place is 1 pound of carrots and 1 red apple, get a juice machine at Walmart or your favorite store and try it.
The first week you should juice religiously morning and noon to clean yourself out. You will find after a couple of days that you will not feel very hungry as long as you stay with it. Its pretty amazing really.
When you carry your juice to work use a stainless steel thermos bottle.
You don't have to be fancy about exercise, just consistent. Walk every day for 15 minutes and increase it eventually to an hour. The important thing is to do it 5-7 time per week!
Oh, and don't tell anyone what you are doing, they will ask you after a few months how you did it.
There is a psychological reason for not telling anyone as well. Many times when you share your plans, you get the naysayers of course, and you get the congratulations from friends. Subconsciously this makes you feel like you have already accomplished your goal and consequently you will stop pursuing it and fail. This is true for most goals.
