Default Are meal replacement bars healthy?

    Hi,

Sometime I am on the go and don't have time for a meal so I grab a protein bar or something similar at the store. Are these bar considered healthier for you than a shake? I see alot of them have high sugar and fat levels, are any brands a better choice than others?

There are several varieties of meal replacement bars. There are energy bars designed to boost energy and protein bars to help build muscles and lose fat during exercise. they can be healthy most of the time so be sure to check the label. Some of them are high in calories, just as much as a candy bar. You can choose those that have little refined sugar and saturated fats.

That's true. Not all meal replacement bars are healthy. I agree with kathy. Always check the label and look for the nutrition information. Be sure to look for calories (should be between 220-230 per serving); fat (should be less than 5 grams per serving); fiber (should be at least 3-5 grams per serving); protein (at least 10-15 grams per serving).

Also, it is best to not be dependent on these products. Eat them at least one a day or twice a week.
