I'm on a low calorie diet and it works for me. I lost significant amount of weight and I haven't gained it back. You can also give it a try. You need to calculate your BMR first so you'll know your daily calorie intake and be sure to stay within your limit. Don't forget to exercise. =D
There are a lot to choose from but I would suggest either low carb diet or low calorie diet. They are proven to be effective so you can try that as well and remember to combined them with regular exercise.
