    Default Green Coffee Bean Extract

    Has anyone tried using anything with Green Coffee Bean Extract?

    For example, Svetol or SkinnyLatte?

    It looks like there is some actual, clinical evidence behind Chlorogenic acids (this web-page has listed some: fbshealth.com/skinnylatte_research.php)

    They also had a review of the Proactol and/or Cactus research. I personally found the coffee research more compelling. Especially the stuff about diabetes.

    The thing is, I've no doubt that there are plenty of overweight coffee drinkers. So, is it just a question of needing to take a lot of that stuff, or?

    SkinnyLatte says it has 250mg of extract per piece. Svetol has 200mg. How much is actually in a cup of coffee, anyway?

    Well there are 120mg of caffeine in a cup of coffee. I know a few people who are over weight and some who actually says that it does help then lose weight. Many weight loss pills use a lot of caffeine because caffeine stimulates the appetite and has a number of adverse effects on the body's metabolic processes.

    Yes, coffee has a lot of caffeine in it. Even decaffeinated coffee has some other stuff in it that raises cholesterol.

    That's why drinking a lot of coffee isn't a good idea. But Chlorogenic acids are different from Caffeine. They apparently lower blood sugar and force the body to use fat for energy instead. I think they are the reason why people who drink a lot of coffee are less likely to get diabetes (they already have several published papers which show this.)

    Anyway, my wife and I have actually been eating these coffee candies (SkinnyLatte) for several days now. Its too soon to say if they are working, but at least they taste good. :-) Sometimes I even eat more than 3 per day. I don't get any caffeine buzz, so I guess its OK to eat more...

    I'd like to try that out soon too. Have you lost weight since you started eating/taking it?

    I've lost two pounds, but I've only taken them just over a week, so its still early days.

    Anyway, the thing I like about them is that its like eating a candy so I don't feel like I'm taking medicine. And they are wrapped.

    If I go out for a meal, I just take a couple with me, and eat one before I start eating. I don't need to choke down a pill and I don't need a glass of water. It looks like I'm eating a breath mint or something. Nobody has any idea I'm taking a "diet pill"!

    You know, that's actually a good idea. It lets me avoid "medicalizing" my diet. Can you imagine if I had to take a bottle of pills, and swallow some capsules in front of everyone at the table?

    Good post binky. I haven't heard of Green Coffee Bean Extract before and it's definitely worth checking out. Are there any side effects in taking this type of pill?
