First thanks to anyone who decides to read and help me out. I have read many posts, but this is my first time actually posting. I have been doing P90x for almost two weeks now and am really excited about the workouts. The problem i am facing is with the nutrition. I am 33yr old male currently 5'9 and weigh about 230 aprox 23% BF. I am in a pretty decent fitness level for my weight and i do carry some adequate muscle. I would like to drop about 30lbs and cut BF in half though and increase my overall fitness level (uggghh...yoga is killing me ) My questions (have 2) is that i am unable to do the fat shredder phase because of food limitations (lack of adequate healthy protein sources). Most food comes as rations (ie can, wrapper, box) We currently have supplies that would allow at best for a 60 to 70% carb level. Also the calorie tool tells me i need 2900 calories while doing P90x to have enough energy and lose weight, while the eating plan the BB.com website gave me is the Basic Slim under 2000. I know the P90x nutrition book puts me at a level III (3000), so i am kind of stuck. I want the best results possible, but keep in mind i cannot do fat shredder phase. Also temperatures here can be as hot as 120 during day and 100 at night. We have outside gym only, so i work out mostly as sun goes down.

Next, i have noticed when doing the plyometric and leg/back workouts that I tend to have minor vision fades. Kind of like when you turn a tv on or off. I do not come close passing out (i dont think) but i do get a little light headed and my skin flushes somewhat. I drink plenty of water and take a sugar free electolyte drink. I am very well-hydrated. I do sweat alot particularly on these two workouts. Just wondering if it could be related to the nutrition or lack of or anything else. I have been here about 30 days, so i believe i am fairly acclimated to the weather. Should i extend my breaks in the workouts or just push through (which is what i'd rather do).

Thanks for any insight. Below is a pic of my build, so you can see what i am working with or against LOL
