Yeah i heard him say that and I was doing the push ups shy of my max but by the time the second round came i was just dead.
I will try cutting the number of reps at the start then hit max out (with perfect form) on the second round and hopefully i will actually see myself through to the end of the video.
but it did hurt the few days after so i obviously did work those muscles, so thats a good sign.
