Like Tony says at the beginning of the workout; pace yourself. I don't recall his exact words, but he warns that you should do a few reps shy of your max during the first round so you have something left for the second. The second round is when you go all out. Just remember that failure isn't when you can't do another rep, it's when you can't do another rep while maintaining good form.
To help maintain your energy level during your workouts try mixing a little recover formula or 100% fruit juice in your water. This will provide the fuel your muscles need to work hard throughout the entire routine.
