    Default Banana Milkshake Recipe

    A healthy and low calorie milkshake great for breakfast, brunch, snacks or desserts.

    Ingredients

    1/2 banana, sliced
    6 oz skim milk
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 cup ice, crushed

    Directions

    1. Chop half a banana into slices, place in plastic baggy and freeze overnight.

    2. Gather ingredients.

    3. Place half banana (now chopped and frozen) into blender. Add 1/3 cup ice, 6 ounces of skim milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.

    4. (Optional: Add 1 packet of Splenda for extra sweetness)

    5. Pour mix into tall glass. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon on shake.

    6. Serve

    Makes 1 serving


    Calories: 128 | Total Fat 0.4g | Total Carbohydrates 24.2g | Dietary Fiber 2.7g | Protein 6.4g


    There is a chocolate version too. Use 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder and blend it with medium banana and 6 oz skim milk. It's 175 calories per serving.

    Ohhh... I want to try the chocolate version...I love chocolate milkshakes..

    I usually avoid milkshakes especially those served in restaurants or fast foods. Why? Because I don't know how much calories it has.. But now, I could finally include milkshake in my diet.. Thanks for the post.

    Vanilla extract? I don't really like the taste of vanilla. I guess I can just change it to something else. I might even add 1 or 2 different fruits..

    I made this recipe this morning.. I love it!! I didn't eat anything else for breakfast after that.. I was full after I drank the whole glass.. It taste great..

    I know right? I love this recipe too.. I drink it for snacks or dessert.. I feel really full afterwards maybe because the banana itself is very filling.
